My top 3 ways to do this are:

1. Journal your cycle📖: not just the days you're bleeding, but everyday. What's your discharge like that day? How about your s3x drive? Your mood? What did you do that day? What did you eat? What's the astrology for that day? What moon phase? Journal all of it.

2. When you are bleeding, notice it: What colour is your 🩸? Does it have a smell, can you describe the smell? What brings you comfort during the time?

3. Something special to wear👗: Choose a special item of clothing, jewellery or maybe an essential oil that you can wear during your bleed.

☕ When I first started working with cacao, I don’t think I realised the magnitude of magic that it could bring with it.

I went into using cacao as a tool to help cope with (postnatal) depression. I’d stumbled across it in Glastonbury one day and ended up buying cacao from @elementsforlife . It sat in my cupboard for a week or so before I decided to step out of the bubble I had put myself in, and decided to step into the earthy cacao bubble for a moment.

The first time I used it, the texture didn’t come out quite as I had expected and I really had no idea what I was doing, but I did a bit of googling, lit a candle, and took a few deep breaths before trying it. I tried it just with water and a pinch of salt because that’s what everyone seemed to recommend and made sure I had a quiet, undisturbed moment whilst my newborn slept peacefully across the room.

What I found was that simply the act of taking out a quiet pause, with the cacao, made space for me to open up a whole plethora of things I could do to explore this drink even more. Then the more deeply I breathed and listened to my carefully chosen playlist, the more my chest started to ache, then came a tear. Just a single tear rolling down my cheek. And I realised why they called it heart opening. 💓

All the ‘stuff’ that I had been locking away in my heart started to leak out, unintentionally.

From that day, I spent the next 25(ish) days having cacao everyday, sometimes larger doses, but mostly smaller doses, but always with some level of ceremony to it.

And everyday my heart opened a little more, after years and years of fiercely keeping it shut.

Some days tears, some days laughter but always with love.

Some months later, I started to learn the importance of my heart in connection with my womb and how I could share this medicine with other women.

This is why I work so closely with cacao, in 1-1 ceremony, in massage and in circles.

Cacao helped me come home to myself. ☕🙏🏻❤️

I spent the entirety of my child years and twenties afraid of dancing, in fact, of any movement that would make me feel any kind of vulnerable, let alone in front of others. So afraid of judgement and being seen in that way.

In my recent years, especially since rediscovering the wild feminine within me, I realised I have been suppressing something that we could all be doing. That should have no shame, or judgement.
It doesn't matter what it looks like. What matters is how you f e e l, following what your body wants to do and letting go.

The more I move, and dance, the more my emotions are stirred and moved in my body. The more I move the more s p a c e there is within for free flowing in my life.

The more I get comfortable with using this as a tool, the more I remember to use it when it gets tough.

This particular time was raw but something I feel should be shared to show that not all 'ecstatic dance' is all sunshine and rainbows. Most of the time I don't move/dance during my bleed(usually walking, gentle exercise), but this month, this cycle, this moon cycle was b i g..
I felt the longing and the anger and the torment in my heart and the more the song built, the more I was able to release in these huge movements. We hold onto so much and we pick up on the earth and others around us and the collective too.

But we're not releasing it, we've been taught to hide it, hold in your emotion, mask it and push it down, waay down.

If you watch until the end- I calm down and I literally hold myself, because I was able to move through it and have compassion for myself thanks to the movements.

Try moving. Just for two minutes to any music, and see what happens. I'm hoping you're in your homes moving like a madwomen too 🫠

There was no one around me that wanted the same birth experience I did, with similar values or interests- at least that's how I felt.

Pregnancy can be a lonely place and this is exactly why I decided to start my pregnancy circles.

Since winter Solstice began, life has been full of reflection on the past year.

It was full of deaths and rebirths, mine and other women's alike.
Full of being held and heard 🤲🏻
Full of coming home to ourselves. 🙏🏻
Full of being humbled and full of being empowered. 💪🏻

Including the light and the dark- I am grateful. 🌚🌝

Grateful for my mother and saying goodbye to her mother. A death in the motherline and yet the motherline seems to get stronger as I learn who my inner mother really is ⭕

This year was the birth of the forest doula and next year she'll be birthing even more.

I can't wait to welcome more women into my cozy, womb-like cave and into my room at Her Peaceful Place in Chepstow. I can't wait to massage and hold you, to hear your inspiring stories, to share cacao with you and watch you come home to yourselves. ☕
