My Story

Growing up, I was a creative little girl but led by fear and anxiety. Bullying

and insecurity drove me to find solace in sugar, a habit that quickly

escalated into a severe depression during my teenage years. I went on

to find validation and security from others, particularly men, and often

found myself in unhealthy relationships.

College brought some semblance of confidence as I pursued beauty

therapy, but deep-rooted fears and self-doubt persisted. Despite

recognizing beauty wasn't my calling, I continued on this path. A series of

ups and downs and personal setbacks lead to a seven-year abusive

relationship, worsening my relationship with food.

Gratefully, the lockdown provided me a turning point and with the

newfound time, I began therapy, which helped me find my voice and

have the power to leave the abusive relationship.

This was a significant death and rebirth in my life:

I had died within that relationship, but upon leaving, I was reborn.

Looking back, I realised that my life had been a series of deaths and

rebirths, each time leading to greater strength and embodiment. After

leaving the abusive relationship, I spent the next three years finding

personal growth through therapy, workshops, trauma work, creativity, and

self-help. I overcame binge eating, connected with my menstrual cycle,

and developed a strong sense of self.

The birth of my son marked the next profound transformation in my life.

At home, my doula and my love by my side:

I died as a maiden and was reborn as a mother.

The forest doula was also born that day.

Today, I am a trained doula, women's masseuse, and circle facilitator,

holding the hands of mums during pregnancy and guiding women on their journeys of self-discovery and empowerment.

My mission is to be a part of other women finding their power, truth, and their own cycles of death and rebirth. Women are constantly in a state of creation, destruction, and renewal. It is my privilege to witness and support them through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and transformation.

No matter where you are in life, woman, it is never too late to trust and come home to your true self.

Love, The Forest Doula, Jess
